Ep102. Commitment Creates Luck. When You Commit, Do You Go All In?
In my life, whenever I've gone all-in on anything, as in total commitment, I've succeeded. Whenever I withhold my full commitment, I never get the results I desire. Commitment is an energy which allows you to focus and perform on the present moment, and the task at hand. Commitment creates luck, and desiring an outcome while not being fully committed is not actually being committed at all to the outcome. This includes professionally, financially, relationshionally, with health, or any other desired outcome. Go all-in and you'll crush it.
The primary elements of this episode are:
- Commitment means 100% committed. 99% commitment equals 0% committed. You're either committed or not. There is no middle ground.
- In my life I might say I want to be healthy and fit, but eat and drink crap. That is not being committed to being healthy and fit, but committed to eating and drinking crap. Just be honest about what you're committed to and go all-in.
- Commitment creates a high level of certainty to a specific outcome. When you're committed you eliminate anything that interferes with that outcome. When you're not committed, you allow excuses and distractions to show up to interfere with your stated objective.
